360 Degrees, ©2016 by Suzann Thompson
14 x 14″
Knitting, quilting, embellishment; wool and other fibers, fabric, buttons, beads.
This is a quarter of a rug I hand-knitted in the late 1980s. I had visited Shaker communities in the northeastern United States to see the garter-stitch rugs made by a Shaker Sister who lived in Massachusetts. Their construction and design were clever, and I wanted to try one.
My rug eventually wore out in places, and this is its first reincarnation.
