I’m blocking a long piece of ultimate sweater machine knitting today. Tomorrow, I’ll stabilize with fusible interfacing. Then I can cut it apart and sew it back together to make my next wall hanging. The deadline is really short (thank you, tax season?). May not make it. But I am going to try.

Once you experience a close encounter with Bull Nettle, you will be very careful to avoid it in the future. Those spines burn like heck! First, get the spines out by scraping the affected area with the edge of a credit card or similar. Make double sure they’re gone by applying a length of packing or duct tape, and pulling it away. Antihistamine gel helps, too, but the spines need to come out first.

Top left: I finished hand-stitching the final inside binding of my Gemini FlightBag—much easier than machine-sewing a previous binding, and *ripping it out, resewing; repeat from * several times.
Top right: first step of turning the bag right-side-out. Exciting!
And now…the big reveal!
Lower left: back exterior of the bag.
Lower right: featured-fabric side of the bag. I made it much more difficult for myself by choosing a vintage needlepoint piece for the pocket front. Won’t do that again!
Next: make the strap, fill the bag with stuff from other purse, retire old purse.😁👜
